Heart of Glass / The Stillness Before the Crack

Yoooo!

I trust that everyone is doing splendidly today. 🙂

Personally, I haven’t been at 100% lately, but I’m working on it.  I have a few projects that I’m working on, ideas and such bouncing off the labyrinth in my brain.  (All keeping me distracted and spacey of course.)

I finished one of the projects a couple days ago!  It’s not even close to my end goal, simply a lead-up project to a novel, but I’m trying.  🙂

My point is–sorry for the lack of stellar poetry.  As soon as I re-gather my brain, I will have fresh, spectacular poetry back on the market.

Anyways, here’s what I made today for you guys!

Heart of Glass / The Stillness Before the Crack

the stillness of a heart that no longer holds
grief, a beating vessel that poured out all that
worries, has the same immovable curiosity
that plagues empty antique shops
only selling glass

spheres and mirrors that beg to be
smashed
into a thousand pieces, broken into
something sharp than can cut, just like
words do if presented in the wrong order

peace
a word meant to be in pieces—a stillness
like this can only promise to break
beyond what’s expected. sharp
lights at dawn. loud cracks at
midnight.

I place my hand against my
heart to feel its beat keeping time with
my peace
       /my pieces

but nothing is there. Glass Doesn’t Beat.
only break.

Well, that’s that.  Hope y’all enjoyed.

Have a lovely rest of your day!
